Kraft process is used by the mostly pulp industries. This process can produce a good quality pulp, but it also gives negative impact to the environment. In order to solve this impact, we try to used a method of process that friendly to the environment. Its method is “Biopulping”, a process with utilized the microorganism to produce a pulp, ie Trametes versicolor fungi sp. The objective of this research to investigate the possibility of biological process (fermentation) in producting the pulp. Hence, it was expected to give the information about the process condition by varying the air flow rate and the thickness of the chip.
The result showed that the amount degradation of the lignin was decrease while the amount of -selulose showing decreasing too. For the variation of air flow rate, the lowest amount of selulose and the highest amount of degradation of lignin is find at the rate 7 l/minutes. While for the variation of the thickness of the chip, the lowest amount of selulose and the highest amount of degradation of lignin is find at 3 mm.
